Algumas Perguntas e Respostas da Sideshow. Muita coisa legal ae no meio
Obs: Estava traduzindo o texto e no final perdi todo meu trabalho, vai em ingles mesmo pois nao vou fazer novamente
I was impressed by Sideshow’s ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ Indiana Jones 12-inch Figure. Any plans for a ‘Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ Indy 12-inch Figure to compliment the ‘Raiders’ figure? (I’m specifically referring to one produced by Sideshow, not the one already available by Medicom Toy.)
Yes! Sideshow will be offering a Crystal Skull version of Indiana Jones in 2009, along with other characters from the franchise in 1:6th scale. Stay tuned to our Newsletter and website for the announcements when they are ready to be made!
I absolutely loved the Indiana Jones Premium Format Figure. Will the “Raider” version be the only Indy PF? or are you going to release more Indy premium formats like a Temple of Doom version maybe?
Your question was probably submitted before the announcement of our new Crystal Skull Indiana Jones PF, but the answer is still yes! We do have plans for additional Indiana Jones Premium Format figures in the future.
I would like to be on your mailing list but could not find a way to add my name with out a credit card - I don’t own one and usually pay with cash or money orders for everything. I would also like to add my name to the Wait List for some items.
We have good and bad news for you…
You can sign up for the Sideshow Collectibles Newsletter without having a Sideshow account, or a credit card. All you need is an e-mail address! [Click Here to Sign Up]
Additionally, you can place In-Stock and Pre-Orders without an online account or credit card - simply contact our Customer Service department and they will be happy to help: [Click Here for Our Help Desk]
But because of the nature of our Wait List system, it is not possible to add name without an active Sideshow account, which includes having your credit card on file. If the system did not require an active account & payment method on file, it would be easily abused by those looking to place multiple reservations for high-demand items - we prefer to serve as many hopeful collectors as possible through this system!
Is there any chance that Beachhead and Firefly can be made for the G.I. Joe series?
Yes! Both Beachhead and Firefly are currently in development for our G.I. Joe line.
Now that you have the Disney license, are there any chances of a Captain Jack Sparrow Premium Format Figure?
Yes, there’s definitely a chance, although it may take a LOT of rum to make it happen
In your Ask Sideshow dated 4/22/09, you confirmed the number of remaining Star Wars Premium Format Figures being announced in 2009 as two. Can you do the same for Lord of the Rings Premium Format Figures? Legolas was recently announced, but will there be more LOTR PFs announced before the end of the year? Additionally, will the Uruk-Hai Berserker PF be the ONLY LOTR PF that ships in 2009, or do us LOTR PF fans have something to look forward to at Comic-Con that will ship in 2009? Lastly, is Boromir on the drawing board for an LOTR PF? Perhaps in full Gondorian Armor as depicted in the retaking of Osgiliath in the extended version of The Two Towers?
We intended to say that one other Star Wars Premium Format figure, which is in fact the recently announced Count Dooku PF, would *ship* within 2009 or very early 2010. The Legolas PF is planned to ship early 2010, and is the next LOTR PF release to ship (after the Uruk-Hai Berserker). Several LOTR PF’s are planned for release in 2010, but we cannot yet confirm the exact number - development plays a major role in the timeline of all LOTR products, as they do take considerably longer for development than other product lines, due largely to the nature of the costuming. Boromir does appear in our planning, but the release date is very much to be determined.
When will we be getting an Uruk-Hai Berserker Premium Format Figure Backstage Pass and production sample pics? I ask this because it seems lately that other pieces that are new releases are getting Backstage Passes straight away, while the Berserker is getting no updates! Hope you can address this.
We expect to have new images of the Uruk-hai Berserker PF up on the website soon. The Berserker figure is expected to begin shipping very, very soon!
I have a question that will interest many people. Will you be making any other Jurassic Park collectibles, or have you completely abandoned the Jurassic Park license at the expense of the Sideshow Dinosauria license?
We confess, we have given Sideshow’s Dinosauria our focus, but we cannot admit to *completely* abandoning the JP license. While we do not have immediate plans for additional JP products, we are reading the forum boards in regard to interest for future JP products, and will take all feedback into consideration.
Can you tell us the reason why the Darth Vader 12-inch Figure has been delayed?
Are you here to put us back on schedule? We’ve chosen not to rush with the Darth Vader figure, and we’re happy to report that we are as proud of the production version as we are of the original prototype, if not more so. We’ve recently received finished and boxed samples, and we’re very excited by the way the figure has turned out! We’ve announced the figure as delayed to ship in 3rd Quarter, but it will be very, very early 3rd Quarter! In fact, Darth Vader is expected to begin shipping late June or early July, and we can’t wait to hear what you think of it!
Is there any reason why aren’t we seeing many recent announcements from Sideshow’s “Scum & Villainy” Star Wars 12-inch Figure line?
Our early years focused on “Jedi”, then on some “Scum & Villainy”, and “Militaries” is now enjoying the spotlight. We do have plans to return to Scum & Villainy, and hope to share more info at a future date!
“These are not the droids you’re looking for.” Oh but they are! The Life-Size C-3PO and R2-D2 are very impressive indeed. But they are far out of my price range and too large for my house. So I am hoping that Sideshow will be making something equally as impressive with C-3PO and R2-D2 as Maquettes or Premium Format Figures in 1/4 scale. Does Sideshow have plans for these droids in these lines in the future?
Yes, you’re in luck. 1:4 scale C-3PO is currently in development, and planned for release in 2010!
When will we be getting another 12-inch Princess Leia? Perhaps in her Hoth gear. Something different other then the normal costumes.
Leia is a staple of the Star Wars universe, and guaranteed to return at some point. The Hoth costumes do rank high on our list of versions of the characters that we would like to capture in 12-inch.
First, congratulations for your great works in your Marvel line! I want to know if it is possible in the near future to have a Premium Format or 1/4 scale Maquette of the Iron Man Mark 3 movie version created by Sideshow?
We are planning a full-body Mark 3 Iron Man piece, although it may not be exactly what you’re thinking - it may be even better (or at least bigger…)
Given its Marvel’s big 70th anniversary year, any plans of making a Fantastic Four ‘VS’ Diorama (as a team, battling a villain)? … AND … Is there any chance of a Galactus or Silver Surfer being done for Sideshow’s Marvel Premium Format Figure line?
The success of our new Galactus Legendary Scale Bust has given us a few ideas for future Fantastic 4 products, and Silver Surfer remains a highly-demanded character - how can we say no?
Can we expect to see a Daredevil or Bullseye Premium Format Figure or Comiquette in the near future? Great job on the Marvel PF line so far guys!
Daredevil is high on our list of characters to do in the Marvel PF line, and Bullseye would be a wonderful complementary piece. We will pass along the suggestion and enthusiasm!
I have been painstakingly wondering if (and when, if you can say) the following Marvel characters will ever be made in these formats: Premium Format or Comiquette. Thanos, Silver Surfer, Dead Pool(classic), Juggernaut(classic), Mephisto(classic), Venom(classic), Sabretooth(classic), Hobgoblin(classic), Lizard(based on Todd Mcfarlanes art), and Colossus Cyclops(classic/Jim Lee). I am sooo certain these will ALL sell out! I wait for your Newsletters every week with hopes that at least one of these will be announced, but to my dismay they never are!
It’s definitely a great list of characters, and a large majority of them do appear in our planning! Several of these characters are on tap for release in 2010 (and are likely to be revealed within 2009), but others are a little further out in our schedule, so stay tuned!
Are there plans for more Brotherhood of Arms figures in the future? Maybe Musicians like a Drummer Boy, or a Confederate Tiger Zouave Artillerymen. Just a thought. I have the entire BOA collection and long for more too add to my awesome collection of Sideshow figures. Keep up the good work! …. AND …. You’ve announced and released some beautiful Civil War cannons recently. Any chance we’ll see some figures to man them?
We don’t currently have plans for any new 12-inch figure offerings for the Civil War line… BUT we are planning to bring ‘Brotherhood of Arms’ into the Premium Format line. Stay tuned!
Any plans for new Star Trek products from the new film or the originals? A line of scaled replica ships from Sideshow would be awesome!!!!
Sideshow is not currently licensed for new Star Trek products, but it is a property that we are watching with great interest, and we’re excited by the good buzz that the new film is receiving!
We have heard rumors of high-end products in the works for Star Trek from other companies, and we have our fingers crossed that we’ll get to see them soon!
Can’t you make Aliens and Predator Premium Format Figures? I would have thought that to be a goldmine! All the main Marines and of course, Ripley, would be incredible! Also, the entire squad from the original Predator film! Both of those licenses need some SERIOUS Premium Format treatment!!!! PLEASE SIDESHOW!!! What is the SITREP on those possibilities?
Game over, man! We are evaluating the possibility of Alien Marines in Premium Format, and Predator PF or Maquette products are definitely part of our plan. Unfortunately, Sigourney Weaver’s likeness is not part of the Alien franchise license - which prohibits us from doing any larger-scale Ripley representations. On a smaller scale piece like the upcoming Power Loader diorama (teased in our Queen Alien Diorama photo gallery), we are including a Ripley-esque (perhaps a bit more beautiful than the real Ripley) portrait, but the Power Loader itself is the focus of the product.
Are there currently any plans for maquette representations of the P2, Scar, Wolf, or any other movie Predators? More specifically, maquettes on the same scale used for the original Sideshow Predator maquette?
Yes, we do have plans for more Predator products in the maquette and PF lines. We do intend for the pieces to be complementary to the original Sideshow Predator Maquette, but it is much too early to confirm anything.
Sideshow is AMAZING! Unfortunately, the Universal Monster Dioramas, Premium Format Figures, and Life-Size Busts are just too expensive for some of us classic monster fans to buy these days. What are the chances of you doing any more of the 12-inch vintage monsters? It would be GREAT to see Karloff from “The Black Cat”, Lugosi as “Ygor”, and Chaney from “Man Made Monster” to name but a few. How about Gloria Holden as “Dracula’s Daughter”? Peter Lorre from “Mad Love” would be another good one!
We had a GREAT run with the 12-inch classic monsters, but it’s not a line that we are currently licensed for, or likely to continue. We do HIGHLY recommend that you have a look at the 12-inch figures created by Amok Time - they’re working on some of the Horror & Sci-Fi classics that will help to round out your collection!
