I would like to know if there will be a possible announcement in the near future of a Jack Sparrow Premium Format Figure?
It is certainly possible! Stay tuned for more details about our Disney
Premium Format Figure line, coming soon! In the meantime, be sure to
watch our Inside Look video about plans for Disney Premium Format
figures: [Click Here to Watch the Inside Look]
Your sculpts are great, but the paint jobs on the final production
pieces sometimes don’t do the figures justice… are you addressing paint
application concerns with the factory you use?
We use several factories, each with their own talents and frequently
review all aspects of production–including casting, paint and final
assembly. Collectible manufacturing is truly an artistic process, much
more so than most other manufacturing, even greatly different than
typical mass-market toy production.
Because of the handcrafted nature of the collectible manufacturing
process, small variations within each production run do occur. We are
grateful that many of our collectors recognize and celebrate this
aspect of the hobby, as each of our products is truly unique and
special for these qualities.
We closely monitor Customer Service feedback, returns and replacement
requests, comments left on our site and discussion on the forum boards.
We do appreciate the feedback and constantly try to improve and refine
our processes to deliver the best possible product. Our Customer
Service department is award-winning and always ready to assist you,
should the need arise!
First off, I can’t wait for the King Leonidas Premium Format Figure
to arrive on my doorstep. The sculpt looks amazing and the likeness is
spot on. Great job! My question is, when can we expect to see another
Premium Format from the movie ‘300′?
We’re thrilled to read your reaction to Leonidas! We’ll share your
enthusiasm with our design team and remind them of the rabid ‘300′ fans
out there. We don’t need any loin-cloth clad fans storming the Sideshow
office! We aren’t aware of any other ‘300′ products currently in
production for 2009, but it is possible for 2010.
I read that Sideshow were to make statues from the recent
‘Incredible Hulk’ and ‘Iron Man’ movies, but so far Sideshow has yet to
announce anything from the Hulk. Will we see Sideshow make statues from
both movies, or just Iron Man?
Unfortunately, reference for the Hulk film was unavailable at crucial
junctures for product development, and nothing ever made it past the
conceptual phase. It is unlikely that you’ll see product based on the
2008 Hulk film, as we have heard greater fan demand and support for
comic based versions of Hulk. Iron Man, however, is another story
altogether…
When can we expect to see more dioramas from World of Warcraft?
Also, will there be more Starcraft statues in the near future? [AND] I
Pre-Ordered the Diablo Barbarian Diorama a long time ago. I just want
know when it will be ready to deliver? Any news about the piece and
painted photos? I cannot wait!
The development team is excited to announce that the Diablo 3 statue,
Overthrown, has recently received full approval from Blizzard, and the
finished piece will be debuted soon on SideshowCollectibles.com! We are
in discussion with Blizzard about future Warcraft and Starcraft
releases. Although you won’t see any other releases in 2009, we are
optimistic about 2010.
Is there any chance of an original ‘Halloween’ Michael Meyers figure
being done in the Premium Format line? I would love to add this to my
other New Line Horror figures collection!
Michael Myers is being considered for the Premium Format line. We will
share your support with the design & development teams.
Have you ever considered doing figures from the classic Rankin &
Bass animated film ‘Mad Monster Party’? The figures would be a great
cross-collectible for Universal Monster and Rankin & Bass fans, and
I know there is a large fan base who have been wishing for these
characters to be done for quite some time!
Many of our designers and development team members have great affinity
for the many masterpieces of Rankin & Bass. Unfortunately,
licensing rights for the R&B films are often quite complicated or
simply unavailable.
Any plans for a ‘Ghostbusters’ series, or perhaps Quint from the movie ‘Jaws’?
No plans at this time, although we’re quite impressed with Mattel’s foray with Ghostbusters!
I’m an avid Premium Format collector and was wondering if you have
considered or tried obtaining the ‘Blade Runner’ license? Nothing would
give me more pleasure than to own Premium Format versions of Deckard,
Gaff, Rachael, Roy, Pris, Leon & Zhora. Please make this happen!
Blade Runner remains a ‘Grail’ property for Sideshow. It is a very
complicated licensing scenario, as is the case with many older films,
and one that we will continue to chip away at. If you happen to know
anyone connected to the Blade Runner film rights, we’d be very
interested to meet them!
Are there any plans on making more historical 12″ figures? I’d like
to see more American Presidents and a Benjamin Franklin figure would be
cool.
Duly noted, and we’ll share the suggestion with our design and
development teams. Currently, our focus for historical figures lies
with the Premium Format line.
I really like my Jabba’s Throne and Dejarik Holochess Set, and I’m
really looking forward to the Han in Carbonite. I’m wondering if you
will continue to produce other items like them in the Star Wars 1/6th
scale line? I would really like a 1/6th scale Carbon Freezing Chamber
environment or any other environments from the original trilogy, Death
Star, Dagobah, Hoth Echo Base, you name it!
Thank you for supporting the Throne and Holochess products and the Han
in Carbonite. Those products, along with the Indiana Jones series Idol
Chamber and Ark of the Covenant, have been wonderful success stories.
We are currently working on concepts for additional environment and
expansion set type products, ideally in partnership with 12-inch figure
products that complement one another. Stay tuned!
I’m still waiting for you guys to do a Chewie, which I am sure you
will, and I’m sure you will do a great job on him. I’m just curious if
you will make several different versions of Chewie or if you will just
do one with all the different accessories, such as his welding goggles
and torch, bowcaster, weird Episode 3 weapon, hydrospanner, Breathing
Mask w/ filter and C-3PO in pieces for him to carry on his back? Either
way, keep up the great work and thanks for all the cool stuff you have
done so far, especially “The Dead” line!
Thanks for the kind words and for the enthusiasm about Chewbacca. He’s
still far, far from a reality - so we’ll simply say that we share your
enthusiasm for all of Chewy’s wonderful toys and hope that he can one
day join the ranks.
Concerning the Militaries of Star Wars 12-inch line; are you limited by episode, or are all the movies fair game to choose from?
Lucasfilm is wonderful to work with - and all Star Wars films,
television, novels, and comics are possible for inclusion in the Star
Wars product lines. Did you have a specific request?
I was wondering if you have plans to release any James Bond figures
in the (near or far) future. I do not necessarily mean a Daniel Craig
figure but maybe also other figures from the older movies. I myself am
especially interested in the Premium Format James Bond figures (I have
all four, even the Sideshow Exclusive Sean Connery in Thunderball
suit). Are there any plans for releasing a Timothy Dalton or George
Lazenby Premium Format James Bond figure? [AND] I was wondering what
are the future plans for your James Bond 12-inch figure line. Will we
see a Daniel Craig 12-inch from Sideshow any time in the future? Also
will you be doing a phase 2 of the James Bond Legacy Collection? I
missed the Dalton and Lazenby figures and boy do I regret it. Just a
recommendation, a Legacy Collection 2 shouldn’t be difficult because
there are so many different outfits worn by the many Bonds over the
years!
Sorry Bond fans, Sideshow is not currently working on any Bond related
product, but we are greatly enjoying Daniel Craig as Bond!

Segunda parte:
I have been wondering if the Classic Iron Man Comiquette is in scale
with the Premium Format Thor and Captain America? I have made a
Pre-Order of the Classic Iron Man here at a local store - how tall is
this piece from head to foot, NOT including the flag?[b]
Yes, Classic Iron Man is intended to display well with his fellow
Premium Format Avengers. They are all in 1:4 scale and complement each
other nicely. In fact, you can see a group shot in our production blog:
[Click Here to View the Avengers Photo]
[b]I know you can’t give specifics, but do you have any plans to
release multiple versions of the same character in the G.I. Joe line?
Yes, without being specific. When and where appropriate.
I love ‘The Dead’ line; it has to be one of the coolest things out
there! Subject 1025: Babysitter is my favorite, so I was wondering: are
there any more female zombies in the works? Also, I love the Premium
Format of Patient Zero, but will he be the only one of ‘The Dead’ line
to be made into a PF?
Many thanks for your support. The Dead heads around here really
appreciate it! Patient Zero Premium Format is such a hit, we’re
definitely moving forward with other ‘Dead’ PF’s. We will share your
enthusiasm for more dead gals with our dev team. Wait, that sounded
wrong. We will share your love of female zombies with the dev team.
Still not right…
Any chance that there will be a second or third chance for the LOTR
Orthanc Environment? I believe the demand for this outstanding piece on
the street would be huge. I have seen it on eBay for $1,000.00 and even
$2,000.00 sometimes - it is unbelievable! Please help, it’s all I’m
missing!
If we knew, we’d be first in line for an Orthanc! We do occasionally
dig into the deep recesses of the warehouse and make rather startling
discoveries. Even more surprising, every once in a while stock returns
to us in an unexpected way through our various distribution channels.
Although it is very unlikely that we’ll be able to offer up any Orthanc
pieces, it is wise to keep an eye on Sideshow’s Express Updates and
weekly Newsletters and stay tuned to SideshowCollectibles.com for
exciting opportunities.
I’ve read in your newsletter that Sideshow is starting a new Marvel
Comiquette line with Mark Brooks. I just want to know: is this new line
*exclusive* to female characters similar to the Adam Hughes line? I
personally would love to see some male Marvel characters as well. Also,
are products from this line in same scale to the AH! Comiquette line?
Neither Adam Hughes nor Mark Brooks are obligated to do females only,
and it is entirely possible that one or the other may stray to design a
male character. We’ll share your support with both AH! and MB, and the
dev team. Thank you!
Any chance of a 1:1 scale Iron Man statue based on the movie (like
the one Sideshow displayed at the San Diego Comic-Con last year)? I
know there is a great deal of interest on the boards for this piece!
We do have an exciting large-scale Iron Man product in development,
which we plan to unveil at SDCC. It is not a 1:1 scale piece, but we
think you’ll be impressed.
I was wondering, are there any chances of KISS 12-inch figures?
Yes, there is a chance. Without revealing too much, development of KISS
for 12-inch is a distinct and real possibility, although it is a case
where Sideshow would distribute, not manufacture.
First of all, congratulations on your making of Iron Man movie Mark
1 Maquette! I would like to know if you will be releasing an Iron Man
movie Mark 3 Maquette or Premium Format because it is the line that I
collect!
We just can’t get enough of Iron Man, and there is a good chance that your wishes will be realized in due time.
We’re also eagerly awaiting news from Iron Man 2, which will impact our product planning for Iron Man as a whole.
Definitely, definitely stay tuned for more Iron Man announcements at Sideshow!
Does the Sideshow Exclusive version of the Hot Toys T-600 Terminator
figure come with both bases or just the Exclusive red base? By the way,
what exactly is the Exclusive base depicting? The picture is so small
it is really hard to tell!
The Exclusive version of the T-600 figure includes BOTH bases. We’re
not familiar with the environment yet (we haven’t seen the movie
either), but we trust in Hot Toys that they’ve captured an interesting
scene from the film.
I just received my Star Wars Stormtrooper 12-inch Figure. It has to
be one of the coolest figures in my collection. The detailing is
amazing. I’m now looking forward to the upcoming Sandtrooper with the
white shoulder pauldron. I’m wondering, will each and every Sandtrooper
have the sand and dirt stains placed exactly in the same place on each
and every figure in the detailing process, or will the sand stains be
unique to each and every Sandtrooper so that no two Sandtroopers look
weathered exactly the same?
We plan to make each version of the Sandtrooper unique, with varied
dirt deco application. If you assemble a squad of troopers (or trio, as
the case may be), the white pauldron version dirt deco application will
not be identical to the dirt deco from another pauldron color version.
It would be feasible to mix and match parts from the various
Sandtrooper releases to add even more variety to your display.
Do you have plans to make characters from the Star Wars Expanded
Universe and video games in the 12-inch line? Such as Darth Revan,
Vader’s secret apprentice.
Yes, we absolutely will make characters from the Star Wars Expanded
Universe, as evidenced by our Asajj Ventress. One coming announcement
is decidedly Expanded Universe, as this particular character has not
yet appeared in any film or television series.
Will the “Six Gun Legends” line include any of the matinee western
movie stars such as Ken Maynard, Tim McCoy, Tom Holt, Johnnie Mack
Brown, Charles Starett, etc. or is it only “real” life people.
Our design and development team is currently focused on exploring real
world characters, but we will share your idea with the team.
I hope you will do more figures and dioramas of the classic
Universal Monsters! Can we expect any more this year (besides the
Silver Screen Editions of what has already been released)?
We do not believe that there are any more Universal Monster products
(other than SSE) on tap for 2009, but we expect more in 2010.
Any plans (please, please, please !!!) for 12-inch figures (or
anything) of LOCK, SHOCK, and BARREL, the devilish trick-or-treaters
from ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’?
Sideshow’s current Disney license does not include 12-inch figures, but we will share the suggestion for the characters!
I understand your decision about the 12-inch line of ‘The Lord of the
Rings’ figures based on the sales of some of the recent releases, BUT
don’t you think that since there have been NO releases by any company
of a 1/6th scale Merry and Pippin AND since they were major characters
in all 3 films and books, that there might be a market out there for
those people who wish to complete the entire Fellowship set???
Your argument is quite logical, but unfortunately experience has taught
us that the hobbits do not fair as well as the humans, elves, wizards,
and villains of Middle-earth. In fair weather times, as may come again
with the upcoming release of ‘The Hobbit’, characters like Merry &
Pippin may do well as limited releases aimed at die-hard collectors,
with added value as they bring variety to the range, and perhaps
completing the Fellowship. In the current climate, with limited design
and development resources weighed against declining interest in LOTR
12-inch, Merry and Pippin do not seem to have enough support to warrant
production before other, stronger characters (Ringwraiths, orcs, etc).
There are a lot of us LOTR collectors who are thrilled that Sideshow
has not only equaled, but often improved upon, the same characters at
one time produced by Sideshow/Weta, such as the Aragorn and Berserker
Premium Format Figures, etc….But what a lot of us would like to know is
whether Sideshow is going to venture outside the realm of established
characters and start producing PF’s and LSB’s of popular/important
characters long ignored, such as Faramir, Denethor, Eomer, Haldir,
etc….?
The specific characters that you’ve listed do not appear on any of our
current production plans, but they are within the realm of possibility.
At the moment, there are other strong characters (even if they’re more
established) that we feel deserve PF and LSB treatment first.
Looking at how awesome the Mystique Premium Format Figure turned
out, is there a chance that Star Wars PF collectors will see a certain
blue skin Jedi Twi’lek in PF form?
We will share your dedicated support for Ms. Secura with our design and
development teams! It is odd how well blue-skinned characters turn out,
eh?
Are you going to do any more Classic Freddy or Jason Premium Format Figures? This would be great!
We do have new Nightmare and Friday products in development, and hope to share more with you in the near future.
How about a Jaws 2 ‘Brucette’ to match the very awesome Bruce maquette?
Bruce was a labor of love and a dedication to our dear friend Terry
Wormzer and his father. We are not currently considering Brucette…
Several years ago, I downloaded a photo from your website that
showed a prototype for Peter Jackson’s WWI series. It was a WWI German
MG08 heavy machine gun and the collecting community has been patiently
waiting for its arrival. So much time has lapsed with no further
mention that I am afraid to guess that the intentions to produce this
have waned. Is there any hope that this piece will ever be manufactured?
To be honest, we’re not certain what became of that project. Several
hiccups occurred in the early production phases, and the project was
back-burnered, and sorry to say that there is little chance now of
resurrection. If we can find any details of the piece or the prototype,
we will document and share the details in the Production Blog.
I am very satisfied by your representation of Anakin Skywalker as a
Premium Format Figure. Will Sideshow announce an Obi-Wan Kenobi from
‘Revenge of Sith’ in Premium Format in the near future?
Obi-Wan is high on our list of characters in consideration for Premium Format, but not coming in 2009.
Sideshow, my Universal Monster collection includes every Premium
Format and Diorama you have ever produced, but I do not collect 1:1
scale busts. After seeing the tremendous job you have done with your
LOTR legendary scale bust line, I have to ask if you’re ever going to
produce these memorable movie icons in Legendary Scale format?
It’s a great suggestion, and one we will share with our design and development teams!
I have been wondering if the Classic Iron Man Comiquette is in scale

have the sand and dirt stains placed exactly in the same place on each
and every figure in the detailing process, or will the sand stains be
unique to each and every Sandtrooper so that no two Sandtroopers look
weathered exactly the same?
