(Puppetm, 2013)

- Powers and AbilitiesEdit
Powers
Atlantean Biological Adaptation: The Atlanteans are an offshoot of humanity that is biologically adapted to the deep ocean environment. For most Atlanteans, this means that can breathe underwater, endure the pressures of the deep (among other adaptations), and can only spend a very limited time out of water. He also possesses superhuman levels of strength, speed, endurance and durability, all by-products of his body being adapted to survive unprotected in the tremendous pressures of the ocean depths. Although other Atlanteans possess similar adaptations, Aquaman's royal lineage makes him a super-Atlantean as well as super-human, and as such he has greater physical capabilities than does a typical Atlantean.
Amphibious Nature: Aquaman, as an Atlantean, can breath underwater and on land. He can be immersed indefinitely without suffering any ill effects but being super-Atlantean due to his royal lineage, he can survive on land longer than an average Atlantean. This length can be extended by the humidity in the atmosphere but eventually prolonged dehydration will weaken him thus he must return to aquatic enviroment at various period.
Enhanced Sight: His ability to see in the murky depths of the ocean allows him exceptional night vision while on land. He has claimed that his eyes are adapted to see at 6,000 fathoms (or 36,000 feet below the surface of the water).[citation needed]
Enhanced Hearing: several times more acute than human capacity.
Enhanced Smell: several times more acute than human capacity.
Superhuman Strength: Aquaman possesses superhuman strength on the order of 150 times human maximum, but his strength is always underrated, considering the company that he keeps. His strength is more than a match for most barriers such as wood, metals, brick or concrete walls. Only extremely durable metal reinforced barriers, have any chance of slowing him for any length of time. Aquaman frequently displays feats of Super-Atlantean (the average Atlantean can lift/press approximately 2 tons) and Superhuman strength. While not on par with Superman, he has proven capable of performing standing high jumps of 4 stories (both on land and from water), lifting and throwing a tank (at least 25 tons), and even managed to hold out for an incredible length of time against Wonder Woman in combat. His strength would appear somewhat dependent on how hydrated he is as he was capable of lifting a considerable chunk of a city block in Sub-Diego, and has proven capable of shifting an oil rig platform which would weigh thousands of tons as well.[citation needed]
Superhuman Endurance: Aquaman possesses strength and stamina that allows him to swim up to 150 mph for at least a 4 hour period without significant breaks for rest or recuperation.[citation needed]
Superhuman Durability: Aquaman's enhanced physiology enables him to withstand impacts that would kill and ordinary human, and critically injure an average Atlantean. He has been seen in ocean depths as deep as 20,000 feet (3.79 miles) below the surface of the water. It seems that Aquaman has been able to travel as deep as 36,000 feet (6.82 miles) considering that he claims that his eyes have been adapted to see at that depth. He is not completely durable against large fire arms, but is able to take a direct hit by small arms fire without incapacitation. Regular bullets are shown to make him bleed but otherwise glance off his thick skin.[citation needed]
Energy-Heat Resistance: Aquaman is extremely resistant to energy/heat based attacks as he has with stood multiple blasts from Amazo's heat vision, Black Manta's heat beams, and energy blasts from an OMAC.
Superhuman Speed: Aquaman's regular speed is approximately 100mph swimming underwater, although slightly less on the surface.[242][243] In times of distress this has shown to drastically increase, and he has reached 1,000 knots.[244]
Superhuman Reflexes: While no speedster, Aquaman's reflexes are superior to even near metahumans such as Deathstroke the Terminator, and his reflexes are on the order of 12-15 times faster than a normal human. Aquaman is probably the greatest swimmer in the world.[citation needed]
Marine Telepathy: Aquaman has the ability to communicate directly with sea life and has done so throughout most of his life. Lately he possesses a greater range of control that can actually force sea creatures to obey his whims. Currently, he requests their assistance and they comply. He has chosen to continue to request since, if he forces them to comply, they will ultimately lose respect for him. He now also has access to a quantum field phenomenon called "the Clear". "The Clear" quantum phenomenon has been observed with the subject called the Swamp Thing who called it the Green or the Morphogenic Field of Animal Man (also called the Red). Aquaman is also an accomplished telepath in general and can perform such telepathic feats as mind to mind communication, mind probes, mental domination of a non-aquatic mind, and mental attacks. The potency of such mental domination is unclear but he has been seen to use his powers to great effect against the White Martians and Doctor Polaris.[citation needed]
Access to the Clear: Aquaman has the ability to sense the primal emotions of aquatic creatures through "The Clear". The Clear seems to function as a universal consciousness of all sea life. Via it he can communicate or command sea life on the other side of the planet. He can see what they see and much more what he is only beginning to realize. He can also push his telepathic powers to reach out to the higher land creatures to find that element of their brains that was once an aquatic dwelling creature. This may account for Aquaman's facility with language.
Superhuman Equilibrium
Sorcery (formerly) : His mutation into the Dweller of the Deep through a bargain with ancient sea gods gave him untold amounts of powerful ancient magics.
Abilities
Master Swimmer: Aquaman is a master swimmer. Perhaps the greatest there is.
Expert Combatant: Aquaman excels at hand-to-hand combat and overall martial ability.
Expert Tactician: He has an advanced strategic sense, and has natural leadership qualities.
Accomplished Diplomat: His natural autocratic nature does not suit him well in environments where democracy is an issue but Orin is a natural commander and his ability has served him well in the protection of Posidonis.
Strength level
An approximation of Aquaman's strength would put his lifting/pressing capacity of at least over 60 tons while on land, depending on how long he has been out of water. While hydrated sufficiently, Aquaman has twice proven capable of lifting weights in excess of 10,000 tons.[citation needed]
Weaknesses
Water Deprivation: Aquaman must return to water after a period of time or he will weaken.
Waterbearer Abuse (formerly): Overuse of the Waterbearer Hand for violent means will cause the Thirst to attack the Secret Sea.

(ênfase do próprio Constantine). O Homem-Animal logo entra no monstro e capturam o mago barbudo que está lá dentro. A batalha dura cinco páginas.

This Just Happened: An Unexpected Green Lantern
Fri, 02/08/2013 - 10:00am
Author: Alex Nagorski
SPOILER ALERT: If you have not read ANIMAL MAN #17 yet and do not wish to know what happens, stop reading this post now (major spoiler alerts ahead!)
You may have already read our “This Just Happened” post about GREEN ARROW #17. But with so many exciting things happening in the DC Universe this week, we couldn’t resist a bonus installment of this column today!
From the creative team of writers Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire and artists Steve Pugh, Timothy Green, and Joseph Silver, ANIMAL MAN #17 serves as the first part of the grand finale of the “Rotworld.” In this epic crossover, the two elemental sides of life in the DC Universe – the Red (animals) and the Green (plants) – come together for the first time in order to defeat the Rot (check out our “5.2 Reasons to Venture Into ‘Rotworld’” for more information!).
In “Rotworld: War of the Rot,” Buddy Baker (a.k.a. Animal Man) and the other agents of the Red have come to the castle of Anton Arcane to end the war against the Rot once and for all. As Animal Man and his allies battle “rotted” versions of the Justice League, Frankenstein bravely squares off against Wonder Woman and loses his arm in the process!
Just when it seems like Arcane and his Rot army will win the fight, the Green arrives at the castle. Swamp Thing, a man-bat serum-infused Batgirl, and other citizens of Gotham work together to take down Superman and a Rot army made up of various villains of the DC Universe.
The battle rages on and there is only one way to stop it. Animal Man and Swamp Thing must join forces and confront Aracane! But, Animal Man hesitates leaving his friends behind, severely outnumbered. As Buddy Baker decides what to do, Sheperd and his army come to the rescue!
- Spoiler:
With the arrival of Sheperd, the agents of the Red find new energy and begin to fight back against the Rot like never before. Medphyll, a Green Lantern rescued from a “rotted” Metropolis is among those agents. But this Lantern from space is not prepared for the Rot and all its power. In the midst of the battle, he is decapitated by the Rot!
Without a Green Lantern on their side, all hope seems lost for the agents of the Red. But Medphyll’s ring has a mind of its own and finds a new owner amongst the warriors: Frankenstein!
Below, take a look at the tragic death of Medphyll and his ring’s declaration that Frankenstein is worthy of the mantle of Green Lantern. Will Frankenstein accept the ring and the responsibilities that come with it? And what horrors await Animal Man and Swamp Thing if they infiltrate Arcane’s castle?
Place your bets in the comments section and find out what happens next by reading the rest of the finale of “Rotworld” in ANIMAL MAN #17 and SWAMP THING #17, in stores now.

Re: [QUADRINHOS] DC Comics (EUA) - O Cavaleiro das Trevas 3!
Geoff Johns on the conclusion to his epic GREEN LANTERN run
Mon, 02/11/2013 - 9:29am
Author: Geoff Johns
So here’s the sad news: Doug Mahnke and I are closing the GREEN LANTERN SAGA that began with GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH #1 with this May’s 64-page GREEN LANTERN #20. As every storyline is coming to a head, it feels like the right time. The book is still doing great. The characters are as vibrant as ever. Let’s go out how we started – on a high note.
Counting up between the GREEN LANTERN monthly series, REBIRTH, BLACKEST NIGHT and the various one-shots and specials…that makes over 100 issues of GREEN LANTERN I’ve had the absolute privilege, pleasure and fortune to write.
I’m obviously ending my run with a little sadness because I love these characters, every single one of them. But I’m walking away feeling very proud of what we’ve done and very grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with so many fellow creators. It’s that collaboration, and every reader out there, who have made this a truly special experience. It's hard to imagine a GREEN LANTERN universe without characters like Atrocitus, Larfleeze, Saint Walker, the Indigo Tribe or the rest of the gang anymore. And I can't count how many Lantern t-shirts of all colors I continue to see.
It was Dan DiDio and Peter Tomasi who I first spoke with about GREEN LANTERN. Dan was the Executive Editor of DC Comics at the time and Pete my editor on JSA. They both wanted to relaunch GREEN LANTERN. My very first proposal that I could find dates back to September 2nd, 2003 meaning I’ve been working on GREEN LANTERN for nearly ten years in some way or another. I’ll never forget Dan telling me his idea for the title, “Rebirth,” he said.
Through BLACKEST NIGHT and BRIGHTEST DAY, literally, Peter Tomasi has always been there. From the incredibly long conversations and debate on REBIRTH to later writing GREEN LANTERN CORPS beginning with the conclusion of SINESTRO CORPS and up until today, Pete has been my creative partner in crime and what GREEN LANTERN grew into would not have happened without him.
And, of course, look at the amazing artists I worked with: Ethan Van Sciver, your mad genius was key to everything we expanded the universe into – the endless energy you have for creation is unmatched. Ivan Reis and Joe Prado, you brought a scope only you two could deliver culminating with BLACKEST NIGHT – and you’re showing the world what JUSTICE LEAGUE should be. And Doug Mahnke…he’s the current superstar I work with every month on GREEN LANTERN and have for years now. Doug, you’re one of the most amazing and unique artists in the business. Your power, grit and sense of wonder can be seen at its very best in the gatefold cover for GREEN LANTERN #20
I’m fortunate enough to continue working with Doug as we head over to a new project later this year.
We all owe a debt to Julius Schwartz, John Broome and Gil Kane for creating such an incredible foundation to build on with Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps. Without them, there would be no Green Lantern.
So what will GREEN LANTERN #20 bring? The bizarre return of Hal Jordan, the final fate of Sinestro, the revelation of the First Lantern and an ending that I hope pays off everything we’ve ever done and ever created with GREEN LANTERN. It has art by Doug Mahnke, Ethan Van Sciver, Ivan Reis and Joe Prado and I’ve poured everything I can into the script.
I’m off to focus my energy on the JUSTICE LEAGUE universe as we head into what I hope is an exciting plan – Simon Baz and B’dg will be along for the ride in JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA – and you’ll no doubt see Hal Jordan and some of the other Lanterns in the world of the Justice League before too long. And Sinestro…? You’ll have to read GREEN LANTERN #20 for that…
Thank you again for reading – whether you started with REBIRTH or started this month – I sincerely appreciate your time and imagination.

All Will Be Well,

The Reverse-Flash is the character that sent DC's New 52 into motion. A lot of people had been wondering just when or if we might see the character pop up in any of DC's new series. That was answered at the end of The Flash #17, when Reverse-Flash made his debut. For those that haven't picked up the book yet, DC, via Comic Book Resources, has released Francis Manapul's designs for the character. Check it out below.
